“Escapism”
while body’s earthbound
at least the mind reaches out
tastes salt on the wind
touches shifting flour sand
washes clean in frigid waves
[ An old picture taken at Long Beach, Washington. It’s my go-to place when I need to imagine somewhere calm and comforting. ]

Beautiful words, beautiful shot.
Thank you! :)
Excellent poem with an equally fabulous photo! Nice work.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful photograph and words. Think I am actually in love with them.
Thank you so much! :)
Your prose and poetry are at just the same good quality, yet isn’t it interesting how much more popular your poetry is?
This is beautiful (and imaginative, in my eyes) as always.
It’s funny you should mention that because it’s been on my mind a lot the last few weeks. Not that I want to sound like I don’t appreciate the attention my haiku/photos get, but it IS kinda frustrating to have something I spent a bit of time on be waaaay more popular than something I agonized over for days or weeks. XD But people like short stuff, I suppose…
Don’t worry; I appreciate both.
You’re too sweet. Your comments always give me the boost I need to not throw my laptop across the room in a flash of writing-related anger. XD
